Privacy, terms & health data

A plain-language summary of how Grooply handles your information and what you agree to when you use the platform. Last updated 2026.

Privacy policy

What we collect. Contact details you give us (name, email, location), the interests and goals you share when you join a waitlist or apply, professional credentials if you apply as a host or licensed provider, and basic usage data such as pages viewed and device type.

Why we collect it. To match you with nearby groops, verify professional eligibility, operate and improve the service, and communicate with you about your account, applications and sessions.

Who we share it with. Service providers that run our infrastructure, verification and payments under contract; your care team only when you are referred or ask us to; and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health information for advertising.

Your choices. You can request a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@grooplyhealth.com. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link.

Retention & security. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to staff who need it to do their jobs.

Terms of use

Not emergency care. Grooply is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call 988 or 911. Nothing on this site is medical advice.

Eligibility. You must be 18 or older to create an account. Licensed providers and hosts must hold an active, verified license in good standing in the states where they practice or host, and must keep that information current.

Community conduct. Groops depend on trust. Harassment, discrimination, sharing another member's health status, or recording sessions without consent will end your access.

Payments. Sessions are billed at the rates shown at booking. HSA and FSA cards are accepted where eligible, and we can issue a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Cancellation windows are displayed before you confirm.

Changes. We may update these terms; we will post the new date here and notify account holders of material changes.

Health data

HIPAA. When Grooply handles protected health information on behalf of a clinician, practice or health system, we act as a business associate under HIPAA and operate under a signed business associate agreement.

Minimum necessary. Referral and outcomes data is limited to what a care team needs: attendance, prescription progress, and self-reported wellbeing measures. Clinical notes stay in your provider's system of record.

Privacy in groops. Referred members can join anonymously. Your clinical status, prescription and referring provider are never visible to other members.

Research & reporting. Any evidence or program reporting we publish uses de-identified, aggregated data only.
